“Mayor Leduc was instrumental in bridging the gap between Bradford and higher levels of government. His proactive leadership facilitated direct connections with County, Provincial, and Federal representatives, helping local industry secure vital support through initiatives like the Federal Regional Tariff Response Initiative (RTRI). This crucial backing allowed KUMI Canada to modernize through automation, protect local jobs, and stay competitive despite heavy cross-border trade friction.”
As a long-time resident of Bradford West Gwillimbury, I am honoured to write this letter of my support in the re-election of James Leduc, as he seeks another term in his role of Mayor for Bradford West Gwillimbury. James is exactly who we need to lead our community and council.
I first met James Leduc in the late 1990’s when a call went out looking for volunteers to run the BWG Santa Claus Parade. His keen desire to “make a difference” stood out even then. In those days this group of volunteers started with absolutely nothing. The efforts of every volunteer helped offset the costs of the first parade and every parade that has since followed. It has been the dedication and hard work of volunteers that has brought the BWG Santa Claus Parade to the level of importance that it now holds in this community and, it is my considered opinion, that James’s contributions over the years both as a volunteer and a supporter on Council have been integral to the continued success of this incredibly important community event. Continuing our community involvement through volunteering, James and I then joined the Bradford Lions Club in 2004 where James went on to become President. During these years James worked very closely with the Bradford Lions Team, volunteering countless hours and raising significant funds to benefit the community with his personal involvement in fundraising which included the annual Lions Car Draw. A little later, James’s move into the political arena was seen, not just as a means of continuing his involvement in a community that our families had chosen to call home, but as a necessary step in maximizing his ability to truly “make a difference” with his efforts and the efforts of others all working hard to build an even better BWG. Over the years he has earned unmatched experience as Councillor, Deputy Mayor and most recently Mayor serving the residents of BWG. He has demonstrated strong leadership skills from each of these positions and his thorough understanding of the processes involved with all levels of government has helped ensure a great many successes for BWG over these years. James has always had the support of many of the residents of BWG … support he has earned every step of the way. This is why I proudly stand with him in his efforts to continue to serve the residents of BWG … as Mayor for a second term we can rest assured that he will continue to truly “make a difference”!

Re: Letter of Endorsement for Mayor James Leduc I am honored to endorse James Leduc for Mayor of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Over the years, I have come to know James as someone who consistently puts Bradford first. One of the qualities I admire most is that he is genuinely accessible. When residents or business owners call James, he answers the phone—or returns the call promptly. He understands that when someone reaches out to their Mayor, they are often dealing with an issue that requires timely attention. That level of accessibility and responsiveness is becoming increasingly rare in public office. James also understands that our community must continue to grow, but that growth must be balanced, responsible, and benefit both today’s residents and future generations. As a member of a family that has owned businesses and property in Bradford for over 60 years, I have seen firsthand how increasingly complex municipal regulations and lengthy approval processes can slow investment, redevelopment, and job creation. While regulations are essential, government must also recognize that responsible growth depends on working with—not against—those who invest in our community. Canada is facing challenging economic times. We often hear that Canadians should support Canadians and build a stronger Canada. That principle should begin at the municipal level. Local government should encourage investment by reducing unnecessary delays, supporting family-owned businesses as well as larger employers, and creating an environment where projects can move forward efficiently. James understands that balance. He is not afraid to ask difficult questions, hold municipal departments accountable, and ensure that projects continue moving forward in the public interest. Leadership requires more than simply managing the status quo—it requires the courage to make decisions, challenge unnecessary delays, and remove obstacles while maintaining high standards. James has also been a strong advocate for Bradford at County Council, ensuring our community has a voice on the issues that matter most. To me, great leadership is measured not only by the decisions a Mayor makes, but also by whether people feel heard. James has always demonstrated that commitment by making himself available, listening to residents, and responding when people need help. His focus has always been on achieving results rather than avoiding difficult conversations. If we truly want to build a stronger Canada, we must also build stronger municipalities. That means rolling out the red carpet for responsible investment—not rolling out more red tape. For these reasons, I am honored to support James Leduc for Mayor of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Sincerely,
“James has demonstrated a strong commitment to public service, a clear understanding of the challenges facing our municipality and a practical vision for sustainable development.”
“In my dealings with James, I have found him to be accessible, responsive, and genuinely committed to practical solutions for both residents and the business community.”

"Since becoming Mayor in 2022, James has led BWG through a period of significant growth and change. He understands that a successful community depends on strong infrastructure, responsible planning, safe neighbourhoods and a local economy that creates opportunity for residents and businesses.
It is an honour to provide an endorsement for James Leduc, and his candidacy for Mayor of BWG. I have known James for over 25 years as one of the first people we met when we moved to Bradford. Not only has James become a trusted friend and neighbor, we view him as one of Bradford’s greatest assets, and Ambassador for this community. James has always been actively involved in our community, volunteering for every worthy cause. Santa Claus Parade, Lions Club, Annual Car draw, Homeshows etc. etc. James was there. He became a friendly face we were happy to see at all these community events. On a personal note, James has been the neighbor everyone wished they had. Back in 2000, our furnace had stopped working, and we were told it would take 2 – 3 days for local companies to replace. James showed up – with heaters and fans and continued to check on us until our furnace was replaced. Another time, my husband was admitted to Toronto General for heart surgery. I don’t drive at all, but James showed up every day to take me to the hospital, on his way to work, so I could spend the day with my husband, and would then pick me back up on his way home to Bradford. You don’t meet people like this every day. I have watched James grow exponentially in his leadership capacity from when he started out as a Councillor, then Deputy Mayor and now Mayor. He has driven our beautiful, growing town in to what it is today. A thriving, diverse and vibrant community. I am so proud to call Bradford my home. Thank you James for all you do for BWG. Sincerely,
Thank you for making such a positive difference in our community! From introducing the new bus service and upgraded garbage bins to bringing us a wonderful variety of free local entertainment, your hard work and leadership truly show. I deeply appreciate how accessible and responsive you are whenever I reach out. You have earned my full support—and my vote for re-election!
I am pleased to express my support for James Leduc in his candidacy for Mayor of Bradford West Gwillimbury. I am confident that James will lead with integrity, collaboration, and a forward-looking approach that ensures continued success for our community.
I am pleased to express my support for James Leduc in his candidacy for Mayor of Bradford West Gwillimbury. James has a valuable understanding of our municipality as well as the challenges and opportunities we face collectively and our community has experienced meaningful growth and transformation, under his leadership. Throughout his time on council, James has demonstrated an ability to bring people together and make informed decisions, focussing on outcomes and benefits to residents, businesses, and future generations alike. James’ priorities such as economic development, infrastructure, improvements, community well – being and responsible governance, reflect the values that keep BWG thriving. We are a community of approximately 50,000 people and have still managed to keep that warm ‘home-town’ feel. This doesn’t happen by accident. It has to be intentional, with bringing the community together, over shared purposes and causes. James has been a tireless volunteer for BWG for many years – even before running for council. From Lions Car draws, cooking for the Back Alley Cruisers, Food Bank Drives, selling booths for The Chamber of Commerce home shows, little league hockey coaching, getting freezers for the food bank, etc., etc. James has shown that his "heart and soul" is with our community. I was encouraged to run for council myself and served for three terms. It’s a great privilege to serve the community we live in and I am confident that James will continue to lead collaboratively with integrity, purpose and a forward - thinking vision that ensures continued success for our community. Sincerely,
I am pleased to express my support for James Leduc in his candidacy for Mayor of Bradford West Gwillimbury. Our community has experienced meaningful growth & opportunity under his leadership for the past four years, and it is essential that we continue building on this progress with thoughtful, accountable leadership.
I have worked with James on several initiatives and have been impressed by his consistent, unwavering loyalty to the residents and community of Bradford West Gwillimbury.
James Leduc has proven to me, time and time again that he is a strong proponent of the “little guy”. He takes a fatherly approach to leadership and takes the time to listen to anybody that engages him. That in itself is the kind of Mayor that I like to look up to. No one is perfect and Mayor Leduc never shies away from admitting fault and that to is indicative of his character. He stands on his own laurels and has been an important magnet on behalf of the Bradford community and in the overall provincial political arena. He has my vote because I know him to be the best option for a better, stronger and inventive Bradford.”
Just a short post to share my support for my father-in-law James Leduc as he runs for re-election as Mayor. He is one of the most genuine and authentic people I know — he always says what he means and follows through on his commitments. His dedication to our community is clear in everything he does, and every day I see firsthand his unwavering care, support and generosity as a member of our family!
